INFO: ERIC LEONARDSON: "Leonardson’s springboard, an electroacoustic percussion instrument made out of coil springs, combs, rubber bands and other unlikely items...yield[s] the kind of amplified insectile rubbings and scrapings that one associates with fellow instrument inventors/ improvisers Hugh Davies and Hal Rammel. There's an oblique sense of humour at play...while a wheezy, spine-chilling invoked. Intriguing stuff." - Chris Blackford, The Wire Eric Leonardson is a Chicago-based composer, radio artist, sound designer, instrument inventor, improviser, visual artist, and educator. He has devoted a majority of his professional career to unorthodox approaches to sound and its instrumentation with a broad understanding of texture, atmosphere and micro-tones.
