ONpaper - Introduction to public funding in Germany / Berlin:Cologne:Munich:Hamburg

The workshop provides an introduction to project funding in the field of contemporary music. We explain the impact of German federalism on funding structures, how to build a project with multiple funding sources, the different types of funding available, and who decides on projects and on what basis. Additionally, we offer a brief overview of the funding landscape nationwide, with a focus on Berlin, Cologne, Munich, and Hamburg. There will also be time for questions afterward. - Background on culture funding in Germany - Explanation of co-financing models - Choosing the right funding program - Overview of the funding landscape in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Hamburg (in Breakout-Sessions) The online workshop aims to provide basic knowledge and includes input sessions, discussions, tasks, and peer exchange.
