Acoustic bodies outline, juxtapose, and mirror electronic gestures of solo improvisers during the 3-day event of the Exchanges series 🔄 🗓️ 25.09 🕢 19:30 ✧ Chi Him Chik’s uses the body of the performer as a medium to present and interpret the idea of presence. Chi Him Chik works across sound, light and spatial media, creating immersive experiences that investigate psychological and perceptual phenomena. ✧ Jan Wegmann’s Krater 2 combines a custom modular synthesizer system with intimate field recordings and visuals. Using a synthesizer case with built-in speakers, it functions as an instrument body, allowing a blend of electronic textures and acoustic resonances. ✧ NNIS has gathered an archive of field recordings and found objects during his time in Asia. Those will be recontextualized through repetition, layering and gradual transformation creating slowly evolving structures that draw on ambient, drone and electroacoustic approaches.
