Ensemble Density

Originally a Melbourne-based initiative, Ensemble Density brings improvisation to the foreground of contemporary art music. Combining guided improvisation with digital tools, and often augmented with on-the-fly contributions from listeners, the performances blur the line between workshop, installation and concert. Dr Charles MacInnes works as a music education specialist at the Elbphilharmonie – leading young people to create multifaceted artistic works from images, stories, patterns, shapes and words.
